Attention Nederland resident or business owner:

Your Board of Trustees is initiating an exciting task force and we need your help! The Nederland Economic Development Task Force is charged with conjuring up ways to promote our local economy. The future belongs to those who create it, so if you have observations, thoughts and ideas on what needs to happen to make Nederland even more attractive for visitors, then we need you! This is an exciting time for our Town and we want to make sure that all voices that want to be heard are heard, so step up!

Every year, the Nederland community takes time out to acknowledge the hard work and contributions of volunteers and community members who make Nederland a special place. Sponsored by Peak to Peak Healthy Communities, the Community Champions seeks nominations for outstanding work in the categories of Government, Community Service, Arts & Entertainment, Youth, Business, Education and a non-profit group.

This year the Community Champions event will take place in late March. Although the original deadline was set for February 10, it is now extended to March 10. If you wish to nominate a Community Champion, please send: the name of the nominee, the name of the person nominating with contact information, and an approximately 300 word statement as to why this person is being nominated. Please include the category for which you are nominating this person.

Many of you will recall the "Nederland Area Nonprofits Alliance" once facilitated by Peak to Peak Healthy Communities Project. In a similar vein, we seek to renew our communications and work together for our mutual benefit. We can learn from each other, set common goals, and coordinate schedules.

We would like to get everyone together in February to launch this new group. We have invited about 20 local nonprofits to the table. If we have forgotten any groups, please forward this to them and let us know to add them to our contact list.
